Project: Yoga and meditation studio
Type: Commercial Interior Design
Year: 2023
Objective: To improve the mental health of students through a yoga and meditation studio,
supported by a biophilic design that fosters peace and relaxation.
The “Zen Zone” is a yoga and meditation Studio located at Griffith University, aiming to prevent and reduce mental health issues among students. The studio serves as a space for students to be a part of something, feel included, exercise, practice mindfulness, and alleviate stress. The yoga and meditation studio utilises biophilic design to address the rising concern of mental health issues among students. By bringing nature into the space, it creates a positive atmosphere that promotes relaxation and calmness. The incorporation of greenery, natural light, and organic elements create a peaceful and nurturing environment for students to de-stress and find inner harmony. The studio offers a comfortable and safe space for everyone, regardless of their level of experience with yoga and meditation. This is a space where students can disconnect from the chaos of daily life and reconnect with themselves, ultimately promoting their mental and emotional wellbeing.
